AI Interior Design Advice: Meet the Home Style Guide
Ever stood in a showroom wondering, “Is this a terrible idea or a brilliant one?”
Meet Home Style Guide — my AI interior design companion, created to give you practical, considered design advice when you need a little professional direction but don't necessarily need to engage an interior designer.
Think of it as me in your pocket — minus the site meetings.
Why I Created the Home Style Guide
Not every design question requires a full renovation, a 40-page concept presentation or an entire design team.
Sometimes you simply need help answering questions like:
Do these colours actually work together?
Should my kitchen have handles or go handle-free?
Is this floor plan going to annoy me in six months?
Which material works best for my family?
Where should I spend more — and where can I save?
I created the Home Style Guide to make professional interior design thinking more accessible for these everyday decisions.
It's particularly useful if you're renovating yourself, furnishing a home, refreshing a room or simply want to sanity-check a decision before committing to it.
What Can an AI Interior Design Guide Help With?
The Home Style Guide is built around the way I approach real interior design projects at Hunt & Design — balancing aesthetics with how a home actually needs to function.
You can use it for advice on:
Kitchen and bathroom design
Interior colour palettes
Materials and finishes
Lighting
Furniture selection and layouts
Styling and decoration
Space planning
Renovation decisions
Budget and where to spend or save
You can also upload inspiration or explain something as simple as “I want my living room to feel warm and sophisticated, but not too formal” and use the conversation to start defining a clearer design direction.
Importantly, the advice isn't just about what's beautiful. Good interior design also needs to consider budget, durability, children, pets, maintenance and how you actually live.
Those slightly less glamorous decisions are often the ones that determine whether you still love your home five years later.
When Is the Home Style Guide Most Useful?
I think of the Home Style Guide as an extra set of design eyes.
It's particularly helpful when you're:
Renovating your home in stages
Furnishing or refreshing an existing space
Choosing between two design options
Selecting colours, materials or finishes
Looking for reassurance before placing an order
Preparing to meet with builders, trades or suppliers
Trying to avoid an expensive design mistake
Sometimes you don't need someone to design the entire room. You just need someone to tell you whether you're heading in the right direction.
Can AI Replace an Interior Designer?
No — and that's not what I've created it to do.
There is a significant difference between getting advice on an individual design decision and having an experienced interior design team develop and manage an entire home.
At Hunt & Design, we continue to work with clients on full renovations, new builds, interior decoration and complete concept-to-completion interior design projects.
Those projects involve detailed spatial planning, documentation, custom joinery, specifications, supplier coordination, procurement and hundreds of interconnected decisions that need to work together.
The Home Style Guide serves a different purpose.
For some people, it will provide clarity before engaging an interior designer. For others, it may give them the confidence to manage smaller projects themselves.
Both are wins.
Professional Interior Design Advice, Made More Accessible
I've always believed good design should feel empowering rather than intimidating.
The Home Style Guide is my way of making some of the thinking behind professional interior design more accessible — helping you make more considered decisions and ultimately create a home that feels like you.
Because while AI can be an incredibly useful design tool, the goal isn't to make every home look the same.
It's to help you make better decisions about yours.
Try the Home Style Guide and start with the design question that's currently keeping you up at night.
